You may be wondering what on earth this catchy yet quirky title is referring to... it was in fact HSC's combined health and safety event and Christmas BBQ, held on the 25th of November, 2022.
Around 70 attended the day, which was our small way of thanking the community for their support over the year.
For the H&S session, we invited FMG Insurance, Network Waitaki, Hato Hone St John, Fire and Emergency NZ (FENZ), and Neighbourhood Support to run workshops and provide tips and advice for keeping safe on farm and in our rural communities. Attendees made their way around the various presentations where they were able to participate in hands-on activities and ask questions of the experts.
Following the workshops, we enjoyed a BBQ and a chance to catch up. Then our fantastic guest speaker, Matt Chisholm, shared his story and provided insights into his journey with mental health and the importance of looking after your own top two inches.
